When I talk to people, whether it be online, on a consultation or face to face when it comes to social media, I often hear “I don’t know what to post” The key to social media is consistency and showing up every day, but it can be hard to constantly come up with fresh content to put out there. Here are just a few ideas to give you some inspiration when you get stuck

Whenever you have written something for your blog, you should always consider what the main takeaways from this post are. It can be quite easy to then split this into small chunks which are perfect to use on social media. Not only that, it can be used as evergreen content (content that you can use over and over again)
This can be really simple questions such as “what’s your favourite dessert” “first drink of the day – tea or coffee?” or questions to understand what your potential client’s pain points are like “what do you struggle with in your business?” “What would make things easier?” “What do you need help with?” The idea being of course you can then go away and present them with the ideal solution to these problems, in the form of products or services.

Testimonials or success stories are a great thing to post on social media to let your audience know how you might be able to help them in the same way.
- Fill in the blank posts
People love to be asked their opinion, and what better way to get engagement than this type of post on social media. An example of which “my favourite way to relax at the weekend is”_________ or “My must have for Monday mornings is” ______________

Start a conversation on social media on a topic and ask your community what they think about it, people love to give their point of view.

These can just be bite-sized tips, for example, Top 5 ways to ____________ or short instructions how to do something. Alternatively, if there is relevant news that you think your audience would like to read then you can share that.

Humorous posts always get good engagement, people love to laugh. Either share funny photos or videos you’ve found online or have a go at making your own memes.
There are many things you could post photo wise: a picture of your workplace, a behind the scenes look at how a product is made, an introduction to the team, unboxing a product or even fans photos using your product.
Video is growing in popularity especially on social media. There are many ways to use video: explainer videos, How to videos, Live videos are great for real time engagement and almost like having a conversation with your followers. there’s Periscope, Meerkat, and Facebook. The latest Facebook algorithm update means that live video is favoured over other content so more likely to get a bigger reach.
Infographics can be really good for explaining processes and statistics. Either share a really good one you’ve found (don’t forget to quote the source) or make your own!
Share the products that are helping you in your business such as software, apps, and websites your audience may benefit from using them too.
